In “Underneath Skin”, a multi-media series of three pieces, Dr Saloni Kulkarni-Patwardhan engages with the bones and muscles that she works with everyday. Her practice as an orthopaedic surgeon may require her to repair broken and mangled bones, but she sees beyond the pain and accident, into the basic structure of the body, observing and noticing textures, patterns, and the sheer beauty of the human body.
